From my review, you’ll learn if it’s worth using them and why, as well as see examples of how they can be used in an SEO consultant’s work.
Ready to learn about Netpeak Spider and Netpeak Checker? Let’s get started!
Netpeak Spider Review (Overview)
The Netpeak Spider tool is a desktop application for crawling entire websites. Such applications are especially useful for SEO audits.
It’s easy to use: you input a website address or a list of specific URLs, start the application, and it retrieves various details for each URL, like HTTP response codes, title content, hreflang value, etc.
With the analysis from Netpeak Spider, you can easily find issues on a website.
Netpeak Spider Features
The Netpeak Spider has many built-in features and tools:
- It can download a whole website, a list of given URLs, URLs from a sitemap, or even URLs from Google Analytics or Google Search Console.
- It checks all the analyzed URLs and finds more than 100 SEO optimization mistakes.
- It creates a structure of the entire website.
- It can gather data from multiple domains into one result table.
- It can generate White Label reports.
- It integrates and gets data from Google Analytics and Search Console.
- It can crawl a website using a virtual robots.txt file.
- It can scrape data from websites (just like prices, product names etc.)
- It checks the spelling on the analyzed website.
- It can work with a proxy.
The features mentioned above are just a small part of what Netpeak Spider can do. Below, I’ll show the features that I found particularly interesting or that are useful to me during work.
Netpeak Spider Features: Classification of Issues
After crawling the website, a table will show you all the collected SEO parameters. Importantly, these parameter values will be rated based on Netpeak’s guidelines.
Error → critical issues
Warning → important, but not critical issues
Notice → issues you should pay attention to
Specific problems will be highlighted with colors in the table with all URLs. This makes it easier to identify them and speeds up work on the website.
You can then export all website problems in .XLSX report format. You can export reports for all problem categories with one click, or choose a specific report type like Broken Links, Redirect Chains, etc.
Also, when you click on a parameter from the list, you’ll see helpful information about what that parameter means and what issues the Netpeak Spider checks for.
Netpeak Spider Features: Virtual Robots.txt
One of the interesting features of Netpeak Spider is the ability to crawl a website using a virtual robots.txt file instead of the actual robots file the website uses. This feature can be very helpful when making a robots.txt file to meet the specific needs of a website.
With Virtual Robots.txt, you can test how the robots file works before adding it to your site, which can help avoid many potential problems.
Netpeak Spider Features: Spell Check
A special feature of Netpeak Spider is that it can check the spelling on a website. This way, you can quickly see if there are any language mistakes in the title, description, H1 – H6 headers, image alt attributes, or page content (body).
Netpeak Spider not only points out the error but also suggests the correct word to use. You can also add a list of words for Netpeak Spider to ignore.
The Spell Check feature uses the language pack that’s installed on your Windows computer.
Netpeak Spider Features: User agent
A feature of Netpeak Spider worth mentioning is that you can change the user agent that crawls a page. You can choose from 70 preset user agent settings for search engines, browsers, or devices. You can even enter your own custom user agent. If you like to be sneaky, you can fetch a competitor’s page pretending to be Baiduspider.
Netpeak Spider Features: Crawling Rules
A useful feature is the ability to crawl only selected parts of a website. If you want to check the optimization or see if certain errors occur, for example, only on product pages or blog post pages, you can enter a specific pattern to fetch only the chosen pages while ignoring the ones you don’t need.
Netpeak Spider Features: White Label Reports
Do you want to quickly make a list of errors on a website and show them to the client in a clear and nice report?
With Netpeak Spider, you can create White Label reports in .pdf format that you can easily customize. You can add your own logo, contact details, and extra comments to the reports. It’s worth noting that creating a report takes just a moment, unlike other tools where you might wait several minutes.
Netpeak Spider Features: XML Sitemap Validator
Using a simple tool in Netpeak Spider, you can check if the website’s sitemap is made correctly and if it has any mistakes. When you enter the website’s address, the tool will find all the sitemaps and show errors, like if the sitemap isn’t mentioned in the robots.txt file.
You can also take the list of URLs from the site map and move it to the main window of the Netpeak Spider tool to analyze certain features or find potential SEO mistakes.
Netpeak Spider Sitemap Generator
The tool also has a built-in sitemap generator in XML, HTML, and TXT formats. Among the options, you can choose to use parameters like “priority” or “last modified ****”. The sitemap generator automatically splits the maps into multiple maps and creates a site map index if the limit of 50,000 URLs or the map size of 50 MB is exceeded.
Netpeak Spider Multi-Domain Crawling
Netpeak Spider lets you crawl and check URL details from many different websites at the same time. This way, you can easily compare competitors based on the details you choose. The tool will show the collected data in one result table for quick comparison of the checked details.
Netpeak Spider templates for settings, parameters, filters, and segments
A feature that will save you time is the ability to save templates of settings and parameters you use for crawling websites. For example, you can create a template that will crawl and gather only information about H1-H6 headers, or a template that only collects data about the website’s status and its “hreflang” parameters.
Export of Any Data in Netpeak Spider
You can easily export the data in the table, which analyzes the website’s SEO details, to .XLSX, .CSV, or .PDF files whenever you want. With Netpeak Spider, you can scan websites for specific details and then group and filter the data. This saves time because you don’t have to export all the details every time, just the ones you need at the moment, like URL status.
Scraping with Netpeak Spider
If you need to get things like product names, their prices, and availability from a website, you can use the data scraping feature in Netpeak Spider. You can scrape up to 100 parameters using functions like contains, Regexp, XPath, or CSS. You’ll find the scraping results, just like all other data, in the main result table of Netpeak Spider.
Pros and Cons of Netpeak Spider
Here is my short list of pros and cons for the Netpeak Spider tool.
Netpeak Spider Pros:
- Crawl configuration options – You can set up the tool in many ways to fit your needs. For instance, you can control the number of threads and the gaps between each URL to lessen the chance of the server blocking the crawler. You can use a proxy or choose from 70 predefined user agents. You can also crawl a website using a virtual robots.txt file to achieve the desired crawling effect.
- Efficient and fast – Crawling with Netpeak Spider is fast and uses much less computer resources compared to other apps.
- Results table features – After crawling, you can group, filter, or sort the data easily, especially when working with many URLs. Interestingly, in one Netpeak Spider result table, you can compare URLs from different websites and easily check their SEO details or found optimization errors.
– Low price for the features offered – You can subscribe to Netpeak Spider for 7 or 12 USD per month, which is quite affordable given its capabilities and speed.
Netpeak Spider Cons:
- It only works on Windows computers – Right now, you can’t run it on macOS. However, I know from the software creators that a macOS version is being created, so it will be available soon.
☝️ Of course, there is a way to get around this and you can run Netpeak Spider on the cloud Windows machine and use it on your Mac so technically this is not an issue. But I am happy that there will be a dedicated Mac version soon.
Netpeak Software also includes Netpeak Checker
Netpeak Checker is a desktop app for analyzing websites and checking links by integrating with 25 external systems like Moz, Ahrefs, SEMrush, Serpstat, Majestic, and others. From these external apps, you can get over 450 parameters and compare them in one result table, similar to the table in the Netpeak Spider tool.
Another important feature of the program is the ability to scrape search results from Google, Bing, and Yahoo using selected search operators. This is really awesome and powerful.
Netpeak Checker Features
Netpeak Checker has many built-in features and tools:
- Checking on-page parameters for given URLs (like title, description, headers, server response code, etc.)
- Ability to get data about backlinks from external tools like Moz, Ahrefs, SEMrush, Serpstat, Majestic, and others.
- Scraping Google search results.
- Checking data for domains (IP address, Whois data, information from Wayback Machine).
- Bulk checking Core Web Vitals for specified URLs.
- Verifying if a website is indexed in Google, Bing, Yahoo.
- Checking which structured data tags are on the site.
- Checking if the site passes the mobile optimization test.
The features mentioned above are just some of the features of Netpeak Checker. Below, I will present the features that particularly caught my interest or are useful to me during work.
Netpeak Checker integration with external tools
After connecting the Netpeak Checker app with one of the 25 external tools, we can get more information for the analyzed URLs from 450 parameters.
- Ahrefs: Domain and URL rating, number of backlinks and referring domains, organic keywords and traffic, number of gov and edu backlinks, and more.
- Serpstat: visibility, number of backlinks and referring domains, and more.
- Moz: Domain Authority, MozRank, MozTrust, External Links, and more.
- Semrush: number of backlinks and referring domains, number of follow and nofollow backlinks, organic traffic and keywords, and more.
- Majestic: Trust Flow and Citation Flow, number of backlinks and referring domains, number of gov and edu backlinks, and more.
- SimilarWeb: Global and Category Rank, Organic and Referral traffic, Display Ads traffic, and more.
I’ve mentioned only a small part of the data we can get with Netpeak Checker. As you can see, it’s a powerful tool to prepare a detailed analysis of websites or backlinks in one summary table.
However, remember we also need access to all these tools to integrate them with Netpeak Checker.
Scraping search results from Google, Bing, Yahoo with Netpeak Checker
Netpeak Checker is a useful tool that can scrape search results from Google, Bing, and Yahoo. Before using this tool, it’s good to set up the location and language in the settings for the search results you want to get. Interestingly, besides organic results, you can also get details from site links and sponsored links, like products in Google Shopping.
After fetching the URL addresses from search results, Netpeak Checker collects a few details from the sites, like the title, description, domain name, and more.
Checking domain data and history with Netpeak Checker
With the Netpeak Checker, you can easily find out a lot of information about competitors’ domains: when the domain was created and when it will expire, its IP address, emails listed in Whois, and more. Another cool feature is that you can see the **** of the first and last time the domain was checked on the Wayback Machine, and you can also get a link to the last check.
This information can be very valuable for an SEO consultant who is analyzing competitors or when looking for valuable expiring domains if you want to create, for example, a website for a private blog network.
Bulk Core Web Vitals Check with Netpeak Checker
After adding the API key, you can use Netpeak Checker to get Core Web Vitals data like Mobile and Desktop Score, LCP, FID, and CLS. Checking the CWV values for many URLs at once can be valuable if you want to regularly watch and improve them.
Netpeak Checker Schema Markup Check
With Netpeak Checker, you can quickly see if a page has Schema markups, how many there are, and even if they have any errors. This is a useful feature that lets you quickly check the correctness of Schema across entire websites.
Netpeak Checker Bulk Index Checker
A simple but important feature is the ability to check if URLs have been indexed by Google. After checking, Netpeak Checker will show TRUE or FALSE for each URL. If you want to check many URLs, remember to use some proxy servers because your IP address can get blocked quickly.
Pros and Cons of Netpeak Checker
Here is my short list of pros and cons for the Netpeak Checker tool.
Netpeak Checker Pros:
- Analyze websites using over 450 parameters from 25 external apps – With Netpeak Checker’s ability to connect with tools like Ahrefs, Moz, and Majestic, you can collect link data and view it in one table. This makes comparing competitors faster and easier because you don’t have to check the same data in each tool separately. Instead, all the data is gathered in Netpeak Checker’s results table.
- Easy and efficient scraping of search results – If needed, you can easily get data from the search results of topics you’re interested in. You can then easily move the collected URLs to the main program window to analyze things like the number of backlinks.
- Low price for the features offered – You can subscribe to Netpeak Checker for either 8 or 22 USD a month, which is a good price given its capabilities and speed.
Netpeak Checker Cons:
- It doesn’t work on macOS systems – Netpeak Checker, like Spider, currently only works on Windows systems. We know that work on the macOS version is ongoing, so it’s just a matter of time before it’s available for download.
Final thoughts on Netpeak Software
It’s REALLY worth looking into both Netpeak Spider and Netpeak Checker tools. They offer many useful features at a low monthly cost, which are helpful for daily SEO consultant work or in an SEO agency.
A big advantage of these tools is their speed, many customization options, and displaying all website data in one results table. This makes it easier to compare different competitors.
It’s unique because in one table you can compare backlink statistics for many competing domains or even individual URLs.
☝️ You can download Netpeak Software and try these SEO tools for free.
