In this honest Rankability review, I’ll share my thoughts on this new SEO content creation and on-page SEO tool.
Let’s get into it.
Full disclosure: I’m one of the co-founders of Rankability, which may introduce a potential conflict of interest. However, I’m committed to objectively assessing the tool’s current state. I’ll revisit and update this review annually to reflect any changes.
What is Rankability?
Rankability is software that helps you create SEO content optimized for Google.
Nathan Gotch and Simon Smith founded it. Combined, we have over two decades of experience in the SEO industry. We also have Gotch SEO Academy, the most popular SEO training program for agencies on the Internet.
Every element of this tool is built based on how it fits within an SEO campaign.
The software mimics many of the SEO systems I’ve built within Gotch SEO Academy.
Here are some ways it can help you with your SEO:
Keyword Research
We viewed keyword research as a nice-to-have element of our tool because it compliments SEO content development. But as we dug deeper, I changed my perspective.
We’re committed to making this one of the best keyword research tools on the internet.
In its current form, here’s how I’d conduct keyword research for a local HVAC company in St. Louis:
The first method is to go broad and search “HVAC St Louis.”
Then, you can use filters like KD to identify low-competition keywords:
You can also filter the keywords by trend to see what’s important right now:
Aside from doing keyword research from scratch, you can also enter a URL, and it’ll extract keywords that you’re ranking for right now:
This feature still has bugs, but the v2.0 version should produce more accurate keyword data.
Here are a couple of things that are in the works right now:
- Filter Keywords by Intent – Search intent is a key part of keyword prioritization, and we’ll be implementing it soon.
- Find Untapped Keywords – Keywords your competitors are ranking for, but your website isn’t.
- Filter Keywords by Lowest Authority – This will allow you to see keywords where weak websites are ranking.
- Find Unknown Keywords – These are keyword ideas that 99% of your competitors ignore.
- Custom Keyword Lists – Easily organize your keyword databases for multiple campaigns.
Overall, the Rankability keyword research tool’s v1.0 will do the job, but we have a lot of work to do to catch up to tools like Semrush.
Now, let’s move on to the core feature of Rankability:
Content Optimizer
90% of our resources have been allocated to the Content Optimizer because content is the most fundamental part of an SEO campaign. It is the lead domino for SEO performance.
Our goal with Rankability is to help you create SEO content that consistently ranks.
Yes, Google has many other ranking factors, but creating a perfectly optimized page is within your direct control and has been proven to work.
So here’s how to do it in a real-life scenario.
Enter your target keyword to create a Content Optimizer report.
You can also select “Import URL Content” if it’s an existing asset.
Now go to the Content Brief section, and you can either create manually or click the AI Brief button to fill the fields automatically:
Then, switch over to the Content Outline section, and you can also use AI to generate the outline. However, you can also look at the top competitors to pick and choose headlines for the outline.
Once it’s done, you can copy the share link and give it to a writer. They’ll have all the details they need to produce a solid asset and be able to write with NLP in mind inside the Content Optimizer.
Speaking of the Content Optimizer, this is where our tool shines. We use blended data from IBM Watson NLP and Google NLU to get the most accurate keyword data. The primary goal of this process is to create the most relevant page possible around your primary keyword.
The Rankability score indicates how well you’ve integrated the NLP topics into your content. This is one area that makes Rankability different from other tools.
We don’t recommend trying to jam keywords into the content. Instead, you should view these topics and narrow the gaps with quality content.
In most cases, you don’t need a 100 Rankability score. Instead, we recommend getting 10-20% above the “Optimal” range for the specific keyword you’re targeting.
This will ensure your page is more optimized than the average competitor’s.
Keep in mind that creating optimized content is only one piece of the ranking equation.
Pro Tip: You must always prioritize your content differentiation and quality first. Then, NLP should be used to create proper relevance. After that, you’ll need to build topic authority by creating more supporting content, building internal links, and working to acquire quality backlinks to your website.
I’ll be honest; I’m really happy with our progress on the Content Optimizer. I think it’s as good as, if not better than, what’s available on the market.
My litmus test for this is that I use it within our SEO campaigns and no longer rely on any previously used on-page SEO tools.
I exclusively use Rankability now.
But in fairness, no tool is without its flaws. We’re dealing with some formatting issues and replacing the text editor with a newly upgraded technology because we’re unsatisfied with the current one.
Now let’s move on to the third part of the tool, which is the:
Content Monitor
We created this because of the frustrating situation after you invest time and effort into building a properly optimized asset, and then the entire SERP changes overnight. This happens often and forces you to constantly play defense in your SEO campaign.
So, instead of reacting to SERP changes, you can be proactive and optimize your page BEFORE it drops like a rock. There is nothing static about doing SEO. It’s constantly changing, and you have to be agile.
That’s when the Content Monitor comes in.
After you optimize your page for the target keyword, add it to the Content Monitor.
Then, every day, our tool will track your Rankability score based on the current SERP situation.
If your Rankability score drops for a keyword, it indicates a shift in the SERPs. In most cases, new competitors have entered, or your existing competitors have upgraded their pages.
This allows you to be proactive about your on-page SEO.
I **** this element of Rankability and we’ll be adding two huge features in v2.0, such as keyword rank tracking.
The final part that’s available right now is:
Rankability Mastermind Calls
These calls are every Wednesday and are led by Nathan Gotch (me). It’s an opportunity to dive into your SEO process, give feedback on Rankability, and connect with other SEO professionals and agency owners.
So those are the core features you can use right now in Rankability v1.0. Here’s what’s coming next:
Ranking Diagnosis (Coming Soon)
I created a proprietary process for diagnosing any keyword that’s not ranking #1 in Google. This template and SOP are currently being used on thousands of keywords.
It typically takes 45 – 90 minutes to complete the full diagnosis, but not anymore.
With the Ranking Diagnosis inside of Rankbility, you can enter your target URL and keyword, and our tool will tell you exactly what’s stopping you from achieving #1 rankings in Google. V1.0 is coming soon.
Rankability Academy (Coming Soon)
I’m creating a dedicated training program specifically for Rankability so you can maximize it and get the best SEO results possible. At the end of this training, you’ll have an opportunity to become a certified Rankability expert.
Rankability Ambassador Program (Coming Soon)
When you refer members to Rankability, you earn 40% monthly recurring commissions for life. Top-performing Rankability Ambassadors also receive bonuses.
Rankability Review for 2024: Final Words
There’s still much time left in 2024, so I might adjust this as the tool advances. Rankability is already a tier-one SEO content creation tool, but the goal is the best (by far). So we have work to do. As I mentioned before, I’ll create a new review every year. And no, I’m not just going to update the year and republish this review. I’m writing a new review every year to show the progress that’s been made.
